By the Waters of Babylon

B. Burrows

By the waters of Babylon,

we sat down and wept,

as we remembered Zion.

We hung our harps on willows there.

For there our captors required of us song,

saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion.”

“How shall we sing the Lord's song

in a foreign land?”
