So jemand spricht: Ich liebe Gott!

If a man say: I love God!

Und hasst doch seine Brüder,

And yet hates his brother,

Der treibt mit Gottes Wahrheit Spott

He mocks God's truth

Und reisst sie ganz darnieder.

And utterly abases it.

Gott ist die Lieb', und will, dass ich

God is love, and wishes me

Den Nächsten liebe, gleich als mich.

To love my neighbour as myself.
