In the night
Carl Engel
When I come and sit in the wind, in the night,
On the edge of the rocky cliff,
When I no longer hear, listening to you, the sound
My heart makes on this earth,
Do not be satisfied, Ocean, to toss
On my face a little foam!
With the swipe of a wave you must then carry me away
To sleep in your bitter depths!
