Speak not in Hate
E. Charles
Speak not in hate --
Far better to be dumb.
Even should I wait, I pray thee, do not come.
Think not to stem
The Torrent of my pain --
Simpler to hem the wind and stay the rain;
Thine to forget,
Time will erase the smart
Of thy regret --
For this I gave my heart.
