We will not part again

E. Mounsey

The hour was sad when last we met;

Our bosoms throbb'd with pain:

But now the sun of life shall set

Ere we shall part again.

All sorrow banish'd, we'll be gay,

And Truth and Joy shall reign;

No night of absence cloud Love's day,-

We will not part again!

Those sparkling eyes with tears were dim,

Those lips with grief were pale;

Now with affection they shall beam,

And tell a kinder tale.

Each rolling year its bliss shall bring;

Ourhappy lives shall be

As well-strung harps,-no jarring string

To mar their harmony.
