Song of autumn
Eileen Pringle
The sobs
of autumn
violins
Wound my heart
with a languid
monotony.
Wholly breathless
and pale, When
the clock chimes,
I am reminded
of the old days,
And I weep.
And am taken
where ill winds
Carry me
here and there,
Like
a dead leaf.
