The Portola Serenade

F. Adams

'Neath the shadow of a Collonade

Sang a lover this sweet serenade

To the maiden he so fondly lov'd

Dearly lov'd with heart so true

Ev'ry ev'ning when the moon shone bright

He would linger in the fragrant night

And sing to her these sweet words o'er and o'er again:

My Senorita

Come, be my dearest Ahalita

Your lips are sweeter

Than all the honey in the roses heart

Come to my arms dear

And have no fear, dear

Come, be my little wife,

The treasure of my life

And one ev'ning when the stars shone bright

Came the little maiden thru the night

To his waiting arms she quickly fled,

Swiftly fled with step so light

As she press'd her rosy lips to his

While she nestled close up on his heart

He sang to her these sweet words o'er and o'er a gain

My Senorita...
