God's Glory in Nature

Franz Wilhelm Abt

The heav'ns are singing of glory unending,

They thunder forth the name of the Lord.

The earth and oceans their voices are lending:

Receive, O man, their holy word.

Who spreads uncountable stars on the darkness?

Who bids the sun cast off her shrouds?

And sends her shining and laughing above us,

Parading proudly through the clouds!
