We are two roses
Hugo Wilhelm Ludwig Kaun
We are two roses
Driven and torn apart
By the storm.
Together
They now whirl
Along their way,
And their petals wave
Agitatedly.
Homeless,
They dance and flee
For each other alone,
Scented and shining
Along the path of love -:
Until in the evening
The great Sweeper,
Smiling,
Takes them into his dustpan.
