Music to "The Rider by Night"

MOTHER

Lully, lullay, my child, my lamb

Head of gold, read as the sun is red

Who when the long day is done

Tugs boots off, draws wool night-cap on,

Then pulls the blankets up over his head.

Lully, lullay.

GODMAMMA

On a horse?

GODMAMMA

Soon or late must come last

My prince…

Hoofs of fire! Eyes so wild

Whose black hair streams in the black blast…

Weeping she said 'Sleep, sleep my child'

PETER

I hear hoofs.

VOICE WITHOUT

Once. Twice.

GODMAMMA

A bargain with you, Death.

DEATH

Now.

DEATH

No! It is time!

MOTHER

He's laughing.
