Dawn

M. Moore

The night is breathless, black, and tense,

A threatning cloud, o'er all the stars is drawn,

E'en mem'ry of past light is driven hencel

Yet seе, God sends the dawn.

A brooding silence, hovers o'er my soul,

My heart is quiv 'ring with memry's rue;

In weariness I faint, nor dare the goal,

Yet see, ah, see, God sends me you!
