Question and answer
Manfred Schlenker
Do you ask me from whence came this fearsome
love into my heart,
and why I accepted from her the bitter sting
shortly afterward?
Tell me, why with ghostly swiftness
does the wind bear up wings,
and from whence does the sweet spring
obtains the hidden water?
Forbid, for me, on his travels
the wind at full speed!
Halt with your magic twig
the sweet spring's flow!
