Once there was a lazy shepherd

Once there was a lazy shepherd -

a true lazy-bones -

concerned over no sheep.

A maiden tried to catch him,

and then the twit lost

appetite and sleep!

He's driven to distant places;

at night he counts the stars;

and he laments and grieves deeply.

Now, since she has accepted him,

everything is back to normal:

thirst, appetite and sleep.
