Moonbeam is the rudder,
Waterlily serves as boat:
Thus Pierrot fares southward
On a fair following wind.
The stream hums deep scales
And rocks the fragile craft.
Moonbeam is the rudder,
Waterlily serves as boat.
To Bergamo, to Homeland,
Pierrot now wends his way;
Faintly in the east
Glows the green horizon.
