Summer night

Max Reger

In the garden, the summer-night rustles,

it pushes heavily through the window,

with wide eyes I listen quietly,

and all about is silence.

And everything sleeps, only a breeze

wafts secretly in and out,

then does my heart begin to weep

and yearn, to be back home.
