The bee in flow'ry dell
(Philipp) Friedrich Silcher
The bee in flow'ry dell,
Is ever flying here and there.
As if it never weary were
To fill its little cell.
Who made the bee desire
To sip the flow'ret's fragrant sweet,
And taught it to direct his feet?
Do none of us inquire?
The God who makes the juice
From flow'rs distil, the bee directs
To find the honey it collects,
And stores for future use.
