How brief the hour
Theodoros Spathis
How brief is the hour
that we spend in loving!
it's less than a moment,
a little longer than a dream.
Time takes away from us
all our enchantments.
How brief is the hour
that we spend in loving!
Under the sleeping waves
the beach kept on sighing;
Did you really love me?
Did you, if only for
a little longer than a dream?
How brief is the hour
that we spend in loving!
