Meine Tränen im Bussgewand

My tears initiated the pilgrimage

Die Wallfahrt haben zur Kaaba

in penitential robes

Der Schönheit angetreten;

to the Ka'bah of beauty;

In der Wüste brennendem Sand

they are buried

Sind sie begraben,

in the desert's burning sand,

Nicht hingelangten sie anzubeten.

for they did not arrive to worship.
